BOOKS HAVE THEIR DESTINY: many music manuscripts held in Europe's cathedrals and monasteries have been destroyed by war and other catastrophes over the centuries. Treviso's collection was largely lost in an air raid in April 1944. This concert presents reconstructions of works by Spalenza, Porta, Crequillon and others alongside their well known colleague, Palestrina.
Peter Leech will be talking about the reconstruction of the manuscripts and the importance of the Treviso and Venice repertory during the concert. Do book early as the Chapter House has limited seating capacity. Public parking is available near the Cathedral.
